Andrew Barton

Hello! I’m a forest and fire ecologist, a writer, and a biology professor (the University of Maine at Farmington). My goal through all of these activities is, in my own small way, to illuminate the problems and solutions to human-caused environmental change. I also have a deep curiosity about how nature works — especially how climate, fire, and forests interact. This drives me to carry out ecological research and to write about it.
